One customer reported that he tried to generate the Xhorse XM38 Toyota smart key for a 2018 RAV4 KeylessGo 8A (FCCID: HYQ14FBA), but the system message stated below
“If the matching is completed and then regenerated, the remote control function is available, but the key must be cleared and the matching repeated to enable the smart function.”
He understood that “re-generate” refers to reprogramming the XM38 universal key, but he wanted to know what “clear it” means and what option should be used for that.

It means that if you regenerate the remote, you must also delete it from the car’s system where it was previously learned. This is because the key may retain the same ID, and the car could reject it during relearning, thinking it’s already programmed. Essentially, you need to clear the key from the vehicle’s memory before attempting to reprogram it. That’s what they are trying to convey.
