Xhorse Dolphin XP007 manual key cutting machine with a built-in battery inside can cut laser/ dimple keys and flat keys for bikes/car. It’s small, light but powerful. This post will share with you about the steps of clamp calibration and how XP007 works by cutting a key.
First, let’s see the steps to calibrate clamp of Dolphin XP007.
To calibrate clamp of Dolphin XP007, we’ll need a 2.5mm probe.
Stick the probe in and tighten up
Use a key blank for the calibration (e.g. No.25 key blank- HON66)
Insert the key into the clamp and tighten up
Then use a guiding block
After that, pay attention to “Needle Leveling” two indicator lights on this Dolphin key cutting machine
This is a prepositioning switch knob. If it’s down, you can remove the probe. It’s up, and the probe is stationary.
Keep the probes at the same height level
Roll down the handle to see if the two lights are on simultaneously
This knob is used for micro-adjustment. Turn the knob counter –clockwise, it will go down. Clockwise will lead to going-up
Note: If the two lights go on at the same time, it indicates the height is ready to go.
You can also try to press different positions. If one light is out, but you press harder, it’s on. It’s perfectly normal and there’s no need to adjust again.
- Turn to horizontal calibration and to do X-axis calibration
To start, the probe needs to touch the edge of the key
If the right light is out, roll down the handle and rotate the handle clockwise.
There’re two screws in position 1 and position 2. And we need to adjust the screw.
- Ifthe right light is out, then need to tighten the screw in position 2.
- Ifthe left light is out, then need to tighten the screw in position 1.
Then try to slide the jaw. Both lights are on. X-axis calibration is done!
2.Move to Y-axis calibration
Keep the handle fixed.
For Y-axis calibration, we need to adjust position 3 and position 4.
- If the left light is out, loosen position 3 and tighten position 4.
- If the right light is out, loosen position 4 and tighten position 3.
When both lights are on, the clamp calibration is finished.
After calibration, let’s see how to duplicate a key by Xhorse XP007.
Put the blank key on the Xhorse key cutting machine and fix it
When the key cutting is completed, insert the key into cylinder to test
