Problem:
When using Xhorse Multi-Prog to communicate with a BMW X1 series Bosch MEVD17.2.4 (N20) ECU, the device fails to establish communication, and the gray wire (P1) outputs no frequency signal.
Error Message:
Failed to execute VPA. Error code: 040510C – Unknown error type.
Resolution Steps
- Update Software: Contact customer support to download and install Multi-Prog software V1.4.4.0.
- Update Database: Open the software and update the Multi-Prog database to the latest version.
- Retry Connection: Reconnect the ECU to the device and test the operation again.
- Technical Escalation: If the error persists after updating, submit a diagnostic log/report to the Xhorse technical support team for further analysis.
