This post demonstrates how to use Xhorse VVDI BIMTool Pro to change mileage for BMW EWS and CAS systems.
Supported systems:
EWS3, EWS4, CAS1, CAS2, CAS3, CAS3+, CAS4 (0L15Y), and CAS4 (5M48H)
Please note:
CAS3+ encrypted versions should select the CAS3+ type.
EWS1 and EWS2 are not supported.
KM Adjustment for EWS/CAS Systems:
The process is straightforward.
Load the EEPROM dump according to the correct type, enter the new KM value, click the Change KM button, and save the updated EEPROM file.
Step-by-Step Guide for CAS1/CAS2/CAS3/CAS3+ KM Adjustment
1.Record the current KM shown on the instrument cluster, then remove it from the vehicle to prevent synchronization with the CAS module.
2.Reset the CAS module’s KM to zero. This can be done via OBD or by modifying the EEPROM dump.
3.Read the instrument cluster’s EEPROM dump using a BDM programmer. This usually involves the M35080 chip.
4.Open the File Change KM tool, select M35080 (instrument), and load the EEPROM dump obtained in step 3 (see Figure 8.2).
Note:
There are two algorithms available (Algo 1 and Algo 2). Try both to determine which one displays a Current KM in file value closest to the value recorded in step 1. Use the correct algorithm to proceed.
5.Enter the desired new KM value.
6.Click the Change KM button and save the modified EEPROM file.
7.Write the new EEPROM data back to the M35080 chip.
8.Reinstall the instrument cluster into the vehicle.
9.The process by BIMTool Pro is now complete.
