If you use VVDI Key Tool Max or VVDI Key Tool Plus Pad to generate Xhorse XM38 Toyota smart key and receive the error message “Calculate failed (error code: Error: 9B) as shown in the figure below, check the solution below.
The possible cause:
You use an incorrect version.
Xhorse Remote version needs to match device version (e.g. GL to GL version).
The device database is GL. If you use a Chinese (CN) version, you will get Error 9B that means the version of your device does not match that of the remote.
The Chinese packaging XM38s can’t be used outside of CHINA.
The solution:
You must purchase the Global Version of XM38 remote.
