In this guide, we demonstrate how Xhorse Condor XC-TWINS and M5L Clamp makes key cutting effortless and precise. Follow these easy steps to duplicate a key with unmatched accuracy.
Step 1: Clamp key
Begin by determining whether the key is tip-aligned or shoulder-aligned.
1.For tip-aligned keys: freely align the key with any reference line on the clamp surface, ensuring it fits according to length without interfering with learning or cutting.
2.For shoulder-aligned keys:
- Use Xhorse M5L Clamp Side A, insert the shoulder positioning block into the slot, press the key shoulder firmly against it, secure the key, and then remove the block.
- With M5L Clamp Side B, position the key shoulder directly against the shoulder alignment line.
When learning or cutting the key side, clamp the key upright using only M5L Clamp Side B.
For tip-aligned keys, align freely based on key length.
For shoulder-aligned keys, press the shoulder tightly to the clamp’s outer edge.
In this post, we use a tip-aligned key.
Step 2: Decode Key
After clamping the key, lower the protective cover and activate the optical recognition system.
For standard keys, choose the “Regular key recognition” mode. Special key types may require alternative settings. (e.g. Tip align-> M5L-A clamp)
Tap “Photo recognition” to capture images to identify the key. The system will automatically detect the key type. Confirm the match and proceed to begin the learning process.
Once learning is complete, the machine is ready to cut.
Step 3: Cut Key
It’s time to cut the key.
Open the cover and remove the original key.
Insert a blank key and select the correct milling cutter. Close the cover securely.
Press “Start Cutting.” Condor XC-TWINS automatically processes the key based on the learned data.
After one side is finished, clear away any metal shavings, flip the key blank, and proceed with cutting the opposite side.
Once cutting is complete, test the key in the lock. A smooth turn confirms a successful duplication.
That’s all it takes to duplicate a key accurately and efficiently with Condor XC-TWINS key cutting machine.
