Issue:
An Xhorse VVDI MLB key remote may stop working after approximately two months, although the keyless engine start function continues to work properly. The original OEM key still functions normally. Is there a fix, or is reprogramming a new key the only solution?
Solution:
Ensure the VVDI MLB remote is updated before programming.
Follow these steps:
Update the remote using the VVDI MLB Tool to the latest firmware version.
During the update process, you will be presented with two options—choose the appropriate one based on your key type.
In the VVDI MLB Tool software, select Update Online → Upgrade OEM Keys
This will update your VVDI MLB key to the latest firmware.
Note: While you can temporarily resync the remote via OBD, the issue is likely to recur in another two months unless the firmware is updated.
For a long-term fix, always update the remote before use.
