Today we will show you how to use Xhorse VVDI2 key programmer to unlock Audi A6 key with ESL file.

Audi A6 Key Info:

Key: 4F0837220

Transponder: 8E

Frequency: 868 MHz

The key has a transponder and remote. Use VVDI Key Tool Max/Pro to read the transponder, the remote is locked and cannot be cloned.

One important thing needs to be known:

It’s necessary to have the file from the electronic steering lock of the car from where the key belongs. If you don’t have the file, you are not able to unlock the key.

Now, start to unlock it with VVDI2 programmer.

Run VVDI2 software

Enter the Transponder Programmer function

Select Transponder Programming>> Autodetect Transponder

Detect the transponder is Megamos 8E and the status is locked.

Select Transponder Programming>> MEGAMOS 8E>> Read transponder>> Check Blank

The transponder is locked.

Select Other Key Tool>> Unlock-A6, Q7, Allroad Key (MEGAMOS 8E)

Load the EEPROM dump

Click Unlock

Unlock success

Go to detect the transponder again, it’s unlocked now.

Read the MEGAMOS 8E transponder and check blank, the transponder is blank. That means we can use the key to program another car key.

Finally, use Key Tool Max/Key Tool Max Pro to read the transponder again. The status turns to unlock.

Keep in mind that it’s not a magic unlock and magic file. You can always unlock the key by getting the dump from the electronic steering lock. If you go to the scrapyard, look for the cars from where you can power up to get the data with the VVDI2 tool and then buy a key or a remote.
