Problem:

When attempting to add an MQB48 key using the Xhorse VVDI MLB Tool and MQB48 adapter, the tool identifies the key but fails during collection.

Initialization succeeds (takes ~1 minute).

Then, the error appears:

“Collection error (5). The current power supply quality is critically poor, making it impossible to collect valid data.”

Troubleshooting Attempts (No Success):

Tried different USB cables.

Tested with another laptop.

Issue persists.

Solution:

This error typically occurs due to:

1.Power Supply Issues – Ensure a stable power source (e.g., use a powered USB hub or check the vehicle’s battery).

2.MQB48 Adapter Chip Mismatch – The most common fix:

• Replace the enhanced chip in the MQB48 adapter package (included with the tool).
• The default chip may not be compatible with certain MLB modules.
