Xhorse VVDI2 Add New Key to BMW 318d FEM/BDC

It’s tested ok to add new key to BMW 318d FEM /BDC using Xhorse VVDI2 key programmer.

BMW FEM /BDC BMW F20 F30 F35 X5 X6 I3 test platform without Gearbox

Procedure:
Remove the FEM/BDC module from car trunk

Connect VVDI2 key tool with BMW FEM /BDC test platform and BMW FEM/BDC module

Main steps:
1.Get key info
2.Program FEM/BDC system
3.Make new dealer key

In detail…

1.Get key info
Run VVDI2 BMW software
Click “Get Key Info”
Read out the current key in ignition switch is key 1

Turn off the test platform power switch

2.Program FEM/BDC system
Click “Programming EM/BDC system”

There are main 5 steps in the programming FEM/BDC system page.

Then follow the steps to operate one by one
Step 1:
Read FEM/BDC coding via OBDII or on the bench
Note: you’d better not close this window after start this procedure
Then click “Backup coding” to save the corresponding coding file

Step 2:
Open FEM/BDC shell, read EEPROM dump via BDM programmer

Load original EEPROM dump and save special EEPROM dump

Write special EEPROM dump back to 95128/95256 chip

Restore FEM/BDC shell, provide +12V and connect OBD

Step 3:
This operation requires to connect FEM/BDC on the bench, and make sure you finish step 1and step 2

Step 4:
Open FEM/BDC shell, write original EEPROM dump (read in step 2) back to 95128/95256 chip
Restore FEM/BDC shell, provide +12V and connect OBD

Step 5:
Load coding file read in step 1, write to FEM/BDC via OBDII, finish FEM/BDC programming

3.Make new dealer key
Click “Prepare dealer key with ignition switch”

Pay attention to the prompt:
Please programming FEM/BDC first, and read key information! If you already finish programming FEM/BDC, please read key information again!

Then choose the key position where you want to do the operation

Insert working key to ignition switch then press OK

Record the key info which appears on the screen

Input a new key into ignition coil

Make new key success
Install the FEM/BDC module back to car
Test the working key and new key, work perfectly!
